Taking a diamond to a local appraiser would be a good start if you want to sell your loose diamond on EBay. Ask for the diamond's resale value, so that the number you'll get is more or less the price you could ask for, when posting the diamond for sale.

Does your diamond have an authentic diamond certification from a reliable gem institution? If not it might be hard to sell it on Ebay since most buyers demand to see certification. You can get your diamond certified at any of a few leading diamond labs around the world, to authenticate it.

Any certificates or appraisals will be a great help when trying to sell a loose diamond on Ebay. People are often apprehensive about buying expensive products over the internet, especially diamonds and diamond jewelry so such documents will show that you are a legitimate source. In addition, diamond certificates and appraisals will not only provide you with an excellent starting point for a selling price, they will also prove to be important in completing the transaction.
