I want to purchase a diamond ring online but I'm scared that once I see it in person I'm not going to like it. What could I do if that will be the case?

I've never purchased such a pricey item online and I'm scared that I'm not going to like the diamond ring in the end. Will there be anything to do if my worries turn out to be true?

In order to avoid this sort of inconvenience, the best advice I can give you is to make sure that you are fully informed about your diamond ring purchase in advance. You should speak to the company's online customer service representatives to get all the necessary information regarding your diamond. Good, proficient and patient advice given by these representatives could be a good indication that the online company you are dealing with is professional and trust worthy. Don’t be shy to ask for extra photographs of your diamonds, which could easily be sent to you via email. This kind of request is very common and really isn't that much to ask for. In addition, if you're not satisfied with your diamond photos, you could always ask them to send you a brief video clip that could be much more effective in demonstrating the diamond's brilliance and appearance. You should do all that is within your power to ensure that you know exactly what diamond you are about to buy, and minimize the uncertainty you might have regarding your purchase. Worst comes to worst, you could always return your diamond ring if you're not pleased with it. Any self respecting online diamond dealer should have a pretty decent return policy, and it shouldn't be too difficult to put into effect.

First of all, I want to let you know that you're not alone when it comes to having reservations regarding internet diamond purchases, and there are a lot of people out there just like you who have the exact same concern. In fact, I used to be just as worried as you seem to be right now back when I made my first online jewelry purchase which happened to be the most important one of my life – my wife's diamond engagement ring. I felt the pressure and was very concerned that the diamond might not live up to what I thought it would, and more importantly that my wife would not like it. Despite all my fears I went ahead and made the purchase online, and ever since I've become a huge fan of online jewelry purchasing and practiced it on many occasions. I decided to comment on your question because I want to let you know that there's really nothing to worry about if you purchase your diamond jewelry from a reputable online company. The worst case scenario, as you described, will be if you didn't like the diamond ring, but you could easily return it if that is the case. The online company will probably have two options; the first being a full money refund and the second an exchange from their other diamond ring selections. Most reputable online diamond companies have a very convenient 30 day return policy, often no questions asked and that's exactly what you need to look for before placing your order with an online company. Always make sure that their return policy is reliable and sufficiently detailed. Speaking from experience, returning a diamond jewelry item is very straight forward and hassle free, so there's really nothing to worry about. You have to realize that these online diamond companies thrive on internet reviews and they depend on good customer experiences in order to keep themselves going in the diamond industry. Therefore, they take each customer very seriously and they're extremely professional. Having said that, you should be aware that there are less reliable diamond dealer websites out there and you should know who to avoid. I suggest you read lots of reviews and customer feedbacks before deciding which online company to buy from.
