Is Botswana safe from conflict diamonds? Or is it like a lot of African countries?

Well, I guess you can never really know these things for certain, but Botswana sure does a lot to prevent any involvement with things like that! It's a country which is a member of the Kimberley Process, which is supposed to ensure that a country does not participate in the mining or selling of "blood" or "conflict" diamonds. Actually a lot of Botswana's money comes from selling diamonds (I think the industry is dominated by a company called Debswana and DeBeers is also involved) and the people there are actually better off than a lot of other african countries. yeahh...
