SOrt of. Or at least there was concern that the mining company didn't comply with the Kimberly Process which was supposed to make sure that all diamond trade laws are followed. The mining company was supposed to hold its first auction since it began mining in September, and to auction 300,000 carats. The auction was canceled by the Ministry of Mines at the last minute. The mining company was accused of not having complying with some of the marketing regulations. They had not invited all the monitors they were required to invite to the auction. Zimbabwe was dictated strict rules at the November 2009 plenary meeting that was held in Namibia. Many human rights organizations wanted to ban Zimbabwe's diamond trade altogether. The company is now suing the legal system for having violated its rights to mine in the country's rich fields. It is uncertain when the auction will be postponed to.
