I remember hearing that his diamond glove was supposed to be sold or auctioned off. Whatever happened?

Yup, it has been auctioned, like the above answers say, it was auctioned for more than a quarter million and eventually it will be placed on display. I also, actually, thought that this glove would sell for quite a bit more than it did. It seems to me that diamonds plus MJ memorabilia = 6 figures!!! I am thrill-ered :), though, that the guys who bought this glove will be putting it on public display for the rest of the world to see, what a lovely gesture!

It was auctioned for a staggering sum, as expected. Fetched 350k dollars! Which I kind of expected, it is studded with diamonds all over and was worn by Michael Jackson in many of his performances. It almost became his trade mark for a while there. I was actually expecting it to fetch an even higher price. Wouldn't have been really surprised if it went into the six figure realm. Quite a beautiful diamond studded little item. I bet the showroom the Macau China guys are planning is going to be hot. I read that they also have acquired the zombie shirt Michael Jackson wore in his Thriller music video. Very cool stuff.

Hey. Oh yeah, it was just a matter of time after the King of Pop's death, before his famous diamond glove he wore at the Motown 25th anniversary in 1983 was going to be auctioned. That happened towards the end of November 2009. The glove is made of leather and studded with many many rhinestones. It was auctioned in New York and it fetched an unbelievable sum (or perhaps a little believable, considering how many die-hard Michael Jackson fans walk among us); it was sold for 350,000 dollars, which is actually about 7 times its cost. It was purchased by a representative of a Chinese hotel and casino that's actually going to place the diamond glove in a showroom its going to have for Michael Jackson's memorabilia. The showroom's also going to feature the late popstar's platinum award he received for his hit "Bad".
