What kind of jewelry would be most appropriate for a flower girl?

My seven year old cousin is going to be the flower girl at my wedding. Her parents (my aunt and uncle) don't want her to look too grown-uppy. They think diamond jewelry on a seven year old is ridiculous. On the other hand, we don't want her to wear plastic cheap stuff. what kind of jewelry would be appropriate?

Congratulations on getting married! i always love to watch the flower girl go down the aisle. They are always so cute and usually embarassed by everybody watching them. I totally get her wanting to look like a grown up and I think that it would be a good idea to get her some jewelry that willmake her feel like one. At my cousins wedding they went completely overboard and put a ton of makeup on the 8 year old flower girl and they gave her really tacky over the top cheap jewelry. I think the way to go is definitely with pearl jewelry. If the bride is picky about other people wearing white pearls there are many other colour options to choose from. But i think some simple pearl stud earrings would be just great and you could pair it with a simple pearl and diamond pendant on a thin platinum or white gold chain. The flower girl, like the bride is supposed to look pure and innocent (because at that age they are!) and you want to keep her look as understated as possible. Hope this helps. Remember.... classy, not tacky and you willbe safe.

Congratulations on getting married! We had the same issue at my sister's wedding. The bridal jewelry for the flower-girl thing... just another one of those things to consider on the never ending wedding to-do-list, right? So, we also thought diamonds on my four year old niece would be too much but we wanted the bride's-girl jewelry to still be elegant. And she also wanted to look like a "real bride's made" :) There's actually lots of options. We went with Freshwater Pearls. But there also crystals and silver plated charms. These are all elegant, but not over done for a young flower girl. Hope this helped.

I'd look at online bridal accessory stores if I were you. They have some really amazing ideas for jewelry for the whole wedding party. You can even order your bridal jewelry in bulk off of these websites, and get a discount on your purchases. I personally like the idea of having your flower girl wear (child appropriate) jewelry which matches your own bridal jewelry. Of course her jewelry will be scaled down but it could still look really cute. Also, another cool idea would be to have her wear tiny flower earrings, they'd go well with the whole flower girl theme.

You say she's seven years old? I think that the jewelry you choose for her should be relatively inexpensive. If you give her expensive jewelry to wear she may end up losing it, and anyways I don't think that little girls should be decked out with diamond jewelry (or jewelry of any kind for that matter). Flower girls should look cute, simple, innocent and sweet. Overloading her with jewelry could end up looking ridiculous. If you insist on having her wear some jewelry then maybe a simple birthstone bracelet, a cute little charm bracelet or, if she has pierced ears, tiny diamond or gemstone studs.

I actually think people take these things way too seriously. Little girls don't need to be wearing expensive bridal jewelry. If she's seven years old - let her be seven years old. She can wear something cute and pink and I'm sure she'll be adorable. diamonds and pearls ARE too grown-uppy. Leave the diamonds and pearls and crystals to the bride and bridesmaids.
