What are some less-common places to feature diamonds during a wedding ceremony?

I really love diamonds, but wearing a lot of jewelry (necklaces, earings...) won't work with my wedding dress...

You could have your groom wear the diamonds for you! Buy him cool diamond stud earrings, a diamond encrusted watch or a diamond dog tag. Or, you could find creative ways of incorporating the diamonds into his attire. You could add them to his tie or to his lapels. And diamond cufflinks are always a great choice. He could look really cool by wearing a little bling.

Well, a good option for you, if you want to wear the diamonds yourself, would be to wear diamond hair-pins. If you are planning to wear your hair up, or even partially up, having hairpins accented with diamonds will allow you to have them on you without overloading you with jewelry. You can find hairpins that look like diamond flowers, or haircombs that have a diamond patter on the edge. You could also have diamond hairpins or barrettes made from your own design with some symbol that signifies something special to you; and it might even last you past your wedding day! Keisha Castle-Hughes, the young star of the successful movie "Whale Rider" wore a diamond whale pin in her hair when she attended the Oscars.

Some people think it's overdoing it, but I LOVE diamonds, and when I got married I found every way to include them in the ceremony! I had figurines with diamonds made for the top of my wedding cake, and diamonds on the ring-bearer's pillow. The wedding cake figurines are a big-time keepsake for me and my husband, as we remember how wonderful the party was when we look at then. The pillow didn't even cost that much since the diamonds weren't high-quality...I just wanted a little real sparkle!

Hah. Funny you should mention that. A friend of mine attended a wedding a few months ago, in which the wedding cake was adorned with diamonds, and I read about a Rodeo Drive wedding where the diamond wedding cake was probably more expensive than the hall. Or come to think of it, I'm not sure that diamond cake was actually used in a real wedding, I think it may have been more of an artistic statement. In any event, couples do sprinkle diamonds on their wedding cakes. Personally I think that's going a bit too far, but it's a matter of taste. If you're really a sucker for diamonds, that's an angle you might consider! In any case, congratulations for tying the not! Have a great wedding and dream come true marriage! :)

Have you thought of adding diamonds to your wedding décor? A diamond wedding cake is a cool idea but it isn't that practical (you would have to remove the diamonds before you cut the cake, which can be quite a hassle). You could use diamond strands to decorate the altar, to line the aisles or to add a little sparkle to your centerpieces. Another great idea would be to have your bridesmaids adorned with diamonds. You could incorporate diamonds into their gowns, you could lend them your diamond jewelry or you could add diamonds to their bouquets. I'm sure you're aware that diamonds don't come cheap and that all of these decorative ideas will cost you. Make sure that your budget allows for these luxurious decorations before you start your planning.
