My cousin is getting married and I'm privileged to be her maid of honor. My dress is a stunning a azure gown, which, fortunately, was decided and designed for me, I didn't have to make any decisions. That would have taken me forever. But The jewelry is up to me. I have no idea what jewelry to wear. How should I adorn myself in a manner that won't outshine my beautiful cousin on her wedding day, but also in a manner that will honor the occasion and my role as maid of honor? Any tips? The wedding is coming up... I'd appreciate any wedding jewelry advice you can give. Thanks a lot!

You definitely should go for a simple look. Because the gown is so beautiful, it is best to wear more simple jewelry. You could do diamond stud earrings and a simple white gold necklace. Or you could wear more extravagant earrings, but go without a necklace. Basically, if you are going to put a bit of flash on one part, try to tone down the other. Less is more in this case I think.

Well, you're right. You don't want to risk outshining your cousin. It is her wedding day and she should be in center-stage. But you also want to look your best and honor your part as her best maid. So I would say nothing too extravagant. No multiple stud necklaces and bracelets. Maybe an elegant pendant and a pair of dainty earrings can do. If you say your dress is azure, then maybe a sapphire pendant to compliment the blue tones? Or perhaps a pretty diamond pendant and matching earrings. You also don't want to wear any jewelry that's too similar to what the bride is wearing. You always want to make sure on this day she's just a little bit more stunning than everyone else. So it's very important to check what she's wearing before picking out your own wedding jewelry. If the bride is going simple, then you will want to go even simpler. If she's going for flashy and striking, you can be a little bit more daring as well. this is just an idea, but I think is all of the brides maids are wearing azure, maybe the bride herself can wear a gorgeous sapphire pendant. You'll all look magnificent, complimenting each other's looks.
