My wedding is fast approaching and I'm so stressed out about all the arrangements, I almost forgot about bridesmaids' jewelry! I'd be grateful for any tips on what's considered appropriate bridesmaids' jewelry.

I know just how you feel! I just got married last year and the bridesmaids' jewelry was something I only got around to at the last minute. It must be so great to have a wedding planner to deal with all the little aspects of the production, but I wasn't so lucky… Anyway, fear not! There are a few guidelines that will help you decide what kind of jewelry to get your bridesmaids. One of the most important things to keep in mind is that if your bridesmaids are anything like mine, they all look pretty different from each other, meaning that a piece of jewelry that looks amazing on one bridesmaid could look hideous on another. The key is to find jewelry that looks good on any body type and face shape, which is why it's best to stick to classic jewelry styles. When choosing your bridesmaids' jewelry it's important to take the necklines of their dresses into consideration. They'll all be wearing the same dress so at least that's a uniform starting point. For example, if the bridesmaids' dresses have plunging necklines then I would suggest princess necklaces, which are approximately eighteen inches long, so they are perfect for pendants (pendants always make necklaces look a little longer). Regarding the type of jewelry you choose for your bridesmaids to wear, I would suggest silver, gold, pearl or crystal jewelry, all depending on your budget of course. As much as you want your bridesmaids to feel special on your wedding day, that doesn't mean you have to break the bank. Bridesmaids' jewelry is supposed to be symbolic and relatively simple, plus many jewelry stores provide discounts when you purchase a few of the same pieces at the same time, or if you buy sets.

Not only are your bridesmaids important people in your life, they are a crucial part of your wedding so I'm sure you want the jewelry they wear on your special day to make them look and feel beautiful. Since each bridesmaid is unique, both inside and out, I would actually suggest getting each of them different pieces of jewelry, that way you can get each bridesmaid jewelry that really complements her face and figure. They're all wearing the same dress, so this will allow them just a spark of individuality in their look. Now this doesn't mean that your bridesmaid jewelry should be totally inconsistent, it just doesn't have to be identical. There should be a unified look to your bridesmaids' appearance so just be sure to stick to the same style and color. Another thing you can do to show your bridesmaids how much you appreciate them is present them the bridesmaid jewelry as a gift. Who doesn't love to get pretty jewelry all wrapped up with a bow? The fact that you've selected each piece of jewelry specifically for each bridesmaid also raises the chance that your bridesmaids will continue to wear this jewelry long after your wedding.
