While high quality diamonds and precious gemstones were traditionally used exclusively in fine, high-end jewelry pieces and other such luxury commodities, these days it has become common for precious gemstones to be utilized in altogether different capacities. Diamonds and precious gemstones designated to be used for cosmetic purposes, for example, is a relatively novel concept. There are those in the scientific community who claim that naturally formed diamonds and precious gemstones possess certain beneficial anti-aging properties. Apparently, diamonds and other precious gemstones help to increase the amount of collagen present within the skin, thus effectively boosting the skin’s natural elasticity, thereby diminishing the amount of wrinkles and lines and imbuing the skin with a palpable fresh and radiant appearance.

Following this assumption, a new skin moisturizer containing tiny, ground up diamond particles, the Judith Williams Luxury Diamond day cream created by famed German Opera singer and television icon Judith Williams, has been launched in London this past month. Since its launch, the Judith Williams Luxury Diamond day cream has generated an incredible amount of public interest, selling millions of units in one single day. The specialized moisturizer, priced at £29.50 per 50ml, is currently sold out and reportedly has a long waiting list of another one million customers.

The cream is reported to have tested effective in reducing the depth of wrinkles by an astounding thirty percent when used daily for a whole month. The moisturizer is said to target the skin’s epidermis, stimulating the dermis’s collagen production as well as protecting against the destruction of protective, beneficial enzymes responsible for shielding the skin from environmental damages such as sun damage. In addition to the ground up diamond particles, or Diamagen, present in the cream, the moisturizer also contains amino acids and peptides, which are believed to delay the breakdown of collagen atoms within the skin’s epidermis, thus augmenting the skin’s natural elasticity.

This is not the first cosmetic product that incorporates ground up diamonds and precious gemstones. A few years ago, the cosmetic market was flooded with eye shadow and eye liner products containing shimmering diamond particles. Since diamonds are synonymous with everything and anything glamorous and luxurious, it is of no particular wonder that customers are gravitating towards cosmetic products containing these precious gemstones.
