This year’s Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels auction is said to include some of the world’s more remarkable, singular precious gemstones and fine jewelry pieces. The renowned auction house will debut precious gemstones and gemstone encrusted jewelry pieces of the finest quality, amongst which are The Light of Golconda diamond ring, diamond rings featuring rare fancy colored diamonds and The Burma Rose, an exceptional diamond and ruby studded ring.

The Light of Golconda diamond ring is one of the auction’s many highlights. The ring boasts a spectacular thirty three carat, D colored, internally flawless, cushion shaped diamond with an old mine cut. The diamond ring is estimated at approximately seven million dollars. The Light of Golconda diamond is legendary for its fine characteristics and incredible qualities. Featuring a high clarity grade, a fine cut grade and a prominent carat weight, this one of a kind precious gemstone, mined in the Golconda mines of India, is the focal point of this year’s Magnificent Jewels auction.

The auction will also include a stupendous 22.17 carat, VS2 fancy colored pink diamond set ring estimated at thirteen million dollars. For those pink diamond aficionados, this ring is a truly spectacular piece since only two dozen natural, pure colored pink diamonds weighing over ten carats have ever been put up for auction. This magnificent natural fancy colored pink diamond, with its amazing clarity, beautiful cut and astounding color grade is sure to generate interest.
The Burma Rose ruby and diamond ring gets its name from the 10.37 carat oval shaped Burmese ruby with an appealing rosy hue, which adorns this fine piece of jewelry. Its flawless quality and the rarity of a high carat, high quality, naturally formed ruby, makes this particular ring a truly unique piece of jewelry estimated at over thirteen million dollars.

The auction will also include rings featuring high quality precious gemstones such as Kashmir sapphires which are known for their incredible luster and their deep blue color. These sapphires are considered especially valuable do to their unique appearance and rarity.

Although diamond and precious gemstone sales have shown a recent decline in customer demand, Sotheby’s is still expecting this auction, scheduled for December 7, to generate one of the auction house’s highest grossing sales, as this year’s Magnificent Jewels auction is estimated to gross approximately fifty million dollars.
