The second annual Manhattan diamond ring scavenger hunt hosted by retail jeweler Michael C. Fina in partnership with fine jewelry maker Tacori, will be held on September 25th, 2010 at noon.

The fundraising event, “Daimond Dash: dash for a diamond & a cure”, recruits New York couples to register for the diamond scavenger hunt in an effort to raise money to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer.  Diamond dash teams are limited to parties of two.

Registered couples dash around Manhattan with a map, their cell phone and digital camera in search of a hidden $20,000 Tacori diamond engagement ring. All participants will be awarded small prizes courtesy of the event’s sponsors.

The winning couple takes home the handcrafted diamond engagement ring, and is additionally awarded a 5-day all-inclusive honeymoon to Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya  in the Mexican Caribbean along with a number of other great prizes. The scavenger hunt culminates with a champagne celebration and a romantic public marriage proposal with the Tacori diamond engagement ring.

“Diamond Dash” registration is technically free, but all couples who fill out a registration form are asked to make a suggested donation of $100 to the LLS. Due to the volume of applicants, not all couples who register will be guaranteed a place as participants.  Only 500 lucky couples are selected at random at the end of the registration period to participate in the “dash for a diamond & a cure.”

Michael C. Fina has already helped raise over $450,000 for LLS. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s  (LLS) mission is to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to help improve the quality of life of patients and their families.  According to LLS statistics, 912,938 people in the US are currently battling blood cancer.
