The NBA has always had a little flash in its flair, but this time the National Basketball Association is making a slam dunk with a brand new line of exclusive diamond jewelry.

They ‘re calling it “basketbling”, and it’s being launched by “Gameplan Concepts” a division of Lamont Jewelry brands, the company connected to well known brands such as “Mirabelle 18K” and “Elizabeth Taylor”.  The NBA bling-bursting collection was designed under the supervision of Lamont’s Creative Director, Monty Abramov, the son of late diamond industry veteran Raphael Abramov.

Delving into the world of logo and branded jewelry might seem to be surprisingly new territory for the California-based diamond jewelry company.  In fact, Lamont is most famously known for producing unique heirloom diamond jewelry designs and bridal jewelry around select and rare polished diamonds. However, Monty is an avid sports fan, with a particular affinity for the NBA.

The new collection of diamond-studded basketball jewelry has items for both men and women showcasing league logos in 18k gold. Each piece in the collection is individually numbered and, at the moment, is being sold exclusively by Geary’s in Beverly Hills.

In fact, the entire line is aiming to be quite exclusive with products starting at $1,500 and reaching up to $20,000. For real fans who want to go all out, there is even a limited-edition collector set featuring 30 team logos, and if you are looking to rock a 2011 NBA All-Star logo or the basic NBA logo,  these babies are priced from $95,000 to $495,000.

“Fine Jewelry is the ultimate expression of passion and luxury, and now consumers, fans, collectors, and jewelry lovers can express their unique passion for the NBA and their favorite teams by owning and wearing these exquisite pieces,” a spokesperson for Gameplan said.

So, book your flight to California soon, if you’re planning on picking up a piece or two.  And make sure you catch a Lakers game while you’re there!
