Teenagers and their loving parents have never had a problem
indulging in luxury items such as limos, gowns, tuxedos and expensive jewelry,
but most girls don’t go so far as to show up at their high school prom wearing diamond
dresses.
This year, however, fashion designer La Femme has partnered up with Dress Goddess to unveil the most extravagant prom dress ever: a silvery, sparkling gown ornamented with an assortment of genuine diamonds sewn by hand into the dress.
The strapless diamond studded gown is entirely form-fitting, with a revealing high slit up the left leg. Available in sizes 00-12 it’s a prom dress that can fit nearly every girl. Of course with so many carats, the gown is retailing on the Dress Goddess website exclusively for a whopping $13,997.
According to the Dress Goddess website, “The gorgeous silver form fitting La Femme evening dress ensures a memorable entrance and exit at any prom.”
But is a memorable prom entrance and exit enough to justify a $13,997 price tag?
“We have been selling prom dresses since 1969. Starting in January of each year our customers search for the most unique prom dress ever created. The $13,997 Prom Dress delivers exactly this…exclusive one of a kind extravagance,” said company President Jon Liney in a press release.
Apparently there are already a number of high school girls who agree with Mr. Liney. With prom season still months away, there are already two dresses special-ordered. According to a representative from the company, the exclusive diamond studded dress takes a total of three weeks to make.
Luckily enough, if you don’t happen to have $13,997 on hand for your prom dress, the designer has other similar dresses for sale for prices that range between $300 and $400.
